Cloche (pronounced clawsh) a French word meaning bell.  A glass dome or cloche was a glass covering originally bell-shaped and used for garden plants to prevent frost damage and promote early growth.  In farmhouse decor, these sometimes have a glass dome and other times are made of chicken wire or tin.   A tableware cover for food often resembles a bell.  The French vintage farmhouse style is a blend of materials, glass, metal, and wood giving your home a pleasant atmosphere.
